2 Corinthians

Paul’s first letter to the church solved some issues but not all. Rather, because while we are
saved from our sins, we are still sinners by nature. New problems crept into the church; new “apostles” came to the church and stirred up questions about Paul’s authenticity. Paul spent his efforts from chapter 1-13 to try to get the church to see their purpose and unite in that purpose. That purpose was love for God, love for each other, and unity in the church.

Key Verses: “Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 NLT.
