Psalm 33

In Psalm 50, God tells us He wants our praise. Do you have money to give to God? He doesn’t need it! Do you want to show God how much work you have done for Him? He already knows it! What God wants above all else is our praise.

David tells us in Psalm 33 how we should praise God. David tells us to worship God by singing with joy and to use musical instruments. He tells us it is fitting for the pure (the redeemed) to praise Him. Then David gives us a list of 11 reasons why we should praise the Lord.

It is amazing that a farm boy/sheep herder would understand how to worship God; the Law prescribed the priests and Levites to lead the worship so why did God inspire this descendent of Judah to tell us how and why to worship? It is because David knew how to as a “man after God’s own heart”! The challenge to us is are we willing to find time each day to “just praise the Lord”?
