Is there justice in the land? This has been a problem since Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden. Why, because all humans are born with a sinful nature. The differences between people is the depth to which they will give in to their sinful nature. In most nations a small percentage of people will give in and commit the majority of crimes, the majority will keep themselves from most excesses and try to live a peaceful life, and some are Christians who have the Holy Spirit to help them overcome most temptations.
Justice is in the hands of those who enforce the laws. Some misuse justice by using their power to threaten. Some have misused justice by taking bribes while others have misused justice by helping their friends or by trying to make a name for themselves. Also justice is misused by those who want to enslave others in servitude, sex or drugs.
So is there any real justice? Isaiah tells us, “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on His shoulders. And He will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of His ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Army will make this happen!” Isa 9:6-7 (NLT).
That is why it is so important for the church today to enthusiastically proclaim “Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father”. Jesus said, “If I am lifted up (crucified, risen, and exalted), I will draw all mankind to me”. He was crucified for our sins, He was raised to give us the hope of eternal life. Now it is up to us to enthusiastically give Him praise and point others to Him!
