In Psalm 74, Asaph was looking for answers for things he did not understand. Now, in this psalm, he has the answer he was looking for. Perhaps God spoke to him directly or he may have found it in scripture. He quoted God, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked. When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundation firm.”
Asaph”s faith was renewed. He offered his praise to God. “We thank You, O God! We give thanks because You are near. People everywhere tell of Your wonderful deeds.” He went on to say, “But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.”
Often we forget to praise God for what He has done, and we wonder why we don’t see more things happening, more answers to prayer. In Psalm 50, God tells us that more than anything, He wants our praise.
